Ole Gunnar Solskjaer led Molde to a 2-0 victory over Sandnes Ulf on Sunday as the Norwegian coach attempted to put a disruptive few days behind him.
Former Manchester United striker Solskjaer has found himself in the spotlight after spending Friday in Birmingham to hold talks with Aston Villa over the vacant managerial post.
The news did not go down well with Molde's billionaire backer, Kjell Inge Rokke, who then pulled the plug on his company's 20-year support of the club as a result of the meeting with Villa.
Solskjaer spoke to the media in a bid to clarify his position, saying he is willing to listen to an offer from Villa if they make contact with him again, but is also happy to 'stand by' the remaining two years of his contract with Molde.
And the 39-year-old was focused solely on his current club this afternoon as they beat Sandnes with goals from Mattias Mostrom and Jo Inge Berget.
'It's a fantastic response from the team and a really good display,' he said in Dagbladet.
'We created a lot of chances and it's a professional performance.
'We are in good form. The way we defended was good, Everyone gave their all for the team and I'm delighted with that.'
The victory took defending champions Molde within a point of Tippeliga leaders Stromsgodset.
