Reigning European and Spanish champions FC Barcelona are reportedly intensifying their chase of Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill.
The People has reported that Barca have been tracking the England international centre back since he made his international debut and supremo Andoni Zubizarreta is due to make a personal check on him.
Cahill could be sold by Owen Coyle’s club in the next window before he leaves for free at the end of the campaign – with Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs also on his trail.
However Barca, looking to sign a classy centre-half who would be eligible for the Champions League campaign, would blow them all away if they decide to bid.
Bolton have good relations with Barca after trying to sign some of their players in the summer, only to be knocked back on Thiago Alcantara and Jeffren Suarez.
And Barca may offer them some of their other reserves to sweeten the deal, although Wanderers are likely to look for cash and hope to get as much as £8million for Cahill, 25.
