Jose Mourinho has signed a new contract at Real Madrid until 2016.
Mourinho, who arrived at the club in 2010, had been contracted until 2014 and there had been speculation over his future during the season.
However, he went on to win the Liga title this season as well as guiding Madrid to the semi-finals of the Champions League and has now extended his contract by two years.
A statement on the club's official website read: "Real Madrid CF and Jose Mourinho have reached an agreement to extend the latter's contract with the club until 30 June 2016."
Cristiano Ronaldo had said during an AS interview that was published on Tuesday that he believed Mourinho to be the finest coach in the world.
Asked to compare Sir Alex Ferguson and Mourinho, he said: "Ferguson was like a father to me. He taught me many things, and I achieved a very nice part of my career with him.
"Mou, for his part, is the best coach in the world and to be with him now is great to be able to continue growing. It's very good working with him because he's the number one."
