Green with envy! The Kung-Fu frog who's desperate to take after martial arts great Bruce Lee

Meet Bruce Leap - the Kung Fu Fighting amphibian.

The angry red-eyed tree frog - native to the rainforests of Central America - lashed out with his right leg - mimicking Bruce, Lee, the martial arts great.

With his left foot firmly planted on a sunkissed log, the frog lifted his right leg and wildly kicked out - just as amateur snapper Shikhei Goh began taking pictures.

Shikhei, from Batam Island in Indonesia, keeps the colourful critters as pets at his rural home.

He said: 'I love insects and animals. it is interesting to note their behaviours. Often they can do human-like things and this frog was no different.

'He lifted his right leg up while shifting his weight to his left and kicked out. It was lightening quick and over in a second. But thankfully I managed to capture it on my camera.'

Shikhei, who is a mobile phone salesman, only took up the past time in 2011 - but has amassed a vast collection of macro images.

He added: 'I only adopted the frog four months ago and wanted to get some pictures of him.

'People love this image - everyone loves Bruce Lee and that is the first thing they think of.

'Since I started taking photos it has taken me lots of exploring and trial and error but with this shot I think I have finally achieved what I wanted.'

Red-eyed tree frogs are not poisonous and rely on camouflage to protect themselves.
They are carnivorous and eat crickets, moths, flies, and other insects - and have been known to eat other small frogs.

But the frogs only hunt at night, spending most of the day camouflaged, even closing their eye lids to stop any predators spotting them.
