Grammy Award winning singing group TLC recently announced that they will have a biopic film about their success as one of the biggest girl groups in our generation. VH1 will feature the group in new series where they depict the lives of some of our greatest pop culture icons. Check inside for more details on this new VH1 film.
The story of TLC will be written by the incredible writer Kate Lanier who also wrote the Tina Turner film “What’s Love Got To Do With It”. T-Boz and Chilli will also have a lot of say in this film, not only as the two surviving members of the group but they are being named the executive producers for the film. The news of a tv film could not have came at a better time for T-Boz who recently revealed she is filing bankruptcy due to her many financial obligations.
The story will depict the group’s rise to fame, their struggles while there and the unexpected death of their good friend and groupmate Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopez. We have no word on when this film will air or what other icons the series will show so stay tuned for more updates on VH1′s new biopic film series.
“I always felt our story had to be told,” Chilli says in the press release for the film, below. And it’s quite a story.”
Will you be tuning in to watch the TLC biopic?
