Alex Ferguson says he decided against signing Wesley Sneijder in the summer as he would not have been the perfect replacement for Paul Scholes.
The Dutch star was heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford but in the end he remained with current club Inter Milan.
After the transfer window closed he did admit that he was "close" to joining the Red Devils.
