QPR striker DJ Campbell is following words of advice from Ruud van Nistelrooy in an effort to kick-start his season.
Campbell has scored just once since a summer move from Blackpool, although he has only recently returned from a two-month injury lay-off.
The 30-year-old blew a great chance to double his personal tally against Manchester United last Sunday and improve Rangers' disappointing return of 15 goals from 16 league games.
But Campbell is convinced he can bounce back in the home date with Sunderland on Wednesday, and reveals he has turned to United legend Van Nistelrooy for inspiration.
The striker said: "I get a bit down when I miss chances but I am just thankful for getting them.
"I read something Ruud Van Nistelrooy said recently that if you miss the first chance, you just go on to the next one. And that's what you have got to do.
"We are strikers and that's what we are paid to do - score goals. We're going to score, and we're going to miss. That's how it is."
Hoops manager Neil Warnock faces a tough decision over whether to restore fit-again first-choice keeper Paddy Kenny or stick with stand-in Radek Cerny.
Warnock said: "I am delighted that Radek has taken his opportunity and it has given me something to ponder."
